Our Mission
Since 2008, YOCAMA has organized Orthodox Christian mission trips to Native American reservations in New Mexico, Arizona, and Montana, bringing together teens, young adults, medical professionals, and volunteers in service to Native American communities. Through week-long summer mission trips and shorter medical trips throughout the year, over 1,000 missionaries have participated in hands-on outreach rooted in faith and service.
YOCAMA’s mission trips focus on meeting essential needs identified by Native American community leaders and local partner organizations. Our work includes medical, dental, vision, and developmental screenings for children; construction and renovation of homes, schools, and community facilities; and the delivery of food, water, and firewood to families living in remote areas of the reservations. All projects are designed to support and strengthen the ongoing efforts of Native American-led organizations serving their own communities.
YOCAMA is an independent, non-profit organization. We seek to provide teens and young adults the opportunity to work side-by-side with Native Americans who are improving the quality of life within their own communities on the Navajo and Blackfeet reservations. Missionaries pay their own travel and lodging expenses. YOCAMA relies on fundraising and donations to support mission efforts. Donations are fully tax-deductible. Our 501(c)3 number is 26-1804058.
